Chant de terre et de ciel is the first in a series of recitals showcasing Victorian Opera developing artists at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Soprano Jessica Aszodi explores themes of nature, time and sensuality in an evening of rarely performed twentieth and twenty-first century music. Joined by pianist Peter De Jager and violinist Stephanie Blake, the concert features Olivier Messiaen's seminal cycle Chants de terres et de ciel as well as works by Luigi Dallapicolla, George Crumb, Gyorgy Ligeti, and world premieres of new songs by Australian composers Robert Dahm and Kate Neal.
