Event Details

Across three weeks Griffyn will be hosting Scotland’s leading new music group, the Red Note Ensemble, culminating in a concert featuring Red Note’s string quartet and Griffyn in an expanded line-up!  We will be premiering works by composers from Scotland, England, and Australia, exploring homelessness and the arrival of refugees in our respective countries.  Red Note’s performing ensemble is drawn from the deep talent pool of Scottish new music expertise, and counts amongst its players some of the very finest performers working in the UK today.

Works include Australian composer Paul Stanhope’s divine Sea Chronicles, Scotland’s Sally Beamish’s Scottish fiddle concerto Seavaigers, and Gavin Bryars’ iconic Jesus Blood Never Failed Me Yet.

Tickets to this event includes entrance to the Red Note Ensemble’s special event concert on Thursday 13th October 7pm, Belconnen Arts Centre.

Featured non-Australian music: Sally Beamish, Gavin Bryars
