Event Details
Listening to Dryandra Woodland is a video captioned sound installation work. It documents several visits to this unique woodland located amidst the western wheatbelt in Noongar Wiilman boodja. We were initially drawn to this place as a sanctuary for endangered species such as the numbat, woylie, and for its predator-proof area which housed boodies, malas and bilbies. However, with each visit, the context of this remnant woodland, situated within the massive and destructive project of the Western Wheatbelt—the largest land clearing event in history—became evermore salient.
