The League of Composers ISCM and the COMPOSERS NOW Festival is proud to sponsor emerging virtuoso sextet ALL OF THE ABOVE with special guest Jianbing HU (sheng) in a moving and visceral program of new works by Edward Smaldone and Douglas Knehans.

All of the Above is a contemporary chamber group devoted to creating unique and innovative musical experiences by collaborating with composers and challenging the traditions of the classical concert. This recital featuring micro-portraits of composers Douglas Knehans and Edward Smaldone showcases the virtuosity, intense emotionalism, brilliant technique and exacting ensemble of one of the country’s best young professional ensembles. Applying their craft to the varied and complementary works of two exciting composers equals a night of invigorating, moving, thought provoking and most of all beautiful, dramatic and emotional music making.
