Jakub Jankowski is an Adelaide-based composer - working primarily in the field of chamber and orchestral music. Many of his works have been championed by prestigious musicians from Australia and abroad.

Most recently, in April 2022, Jakub's work To the Waters Above, was premiered by players of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra at the National Museum of Australia. Last year, his first commission for a professional symphony orchestra Clairières (commissioned as part of an ABC Fresh-Start Fund), was premiered in September 2021 by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

In April 2019, Jakub was featured as a composer in residence at the Tongyeong International Music Festival in South Korea - which included performances of his works by the Fabergè Quintet, cellist Hee-Young Lim, pianist Holger Groschopp, and the world premiere of The Dove Descending written especially for the Arditti String Quartet. In May 2019, his site-specific work The Voices of Silent Things for mezzo soprano, piano, spatial ensemble and audience participation was premiered at the Coriole Music Festival.

Jakub's music has been featured at a number of festivals, including: the Huntington Estate Music Festival (2019), the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival (2018), the Musica Viva Festival (2017), the London International Mime Festival (2016) and the Sacrarium Composers' Festival in Lviv Ukraine (2014).

Jakub holds a Bachelor of Music with Honours in composition from the Elder Conservatorium of Music where he studied with Professor Charles Bodman-Rae and Professor Grahame Koehne. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Conducting which he completed under the tutelage of Luke Dollman. Jakub has also participated in programs including the 2016 Synthetis International Summer Course for Composers.
