Born in Zimbabwe in 1972, Monique Carole-Smith began her career in Brisbane where she become well respected for her work as a singer, pianist, composer and teacher. She completed a Bachelor of Music and a Graduate Diploma in Voice at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music studying under the direction of Adele Nisbet (Voice) and Gerard Brophy (Composition).

With a strong emphasis on repertoire for the voice, Monique has composed many works for both professional and developing singers, covering a broad range of genres including classical, jazz and contemporary. Through her songs she endeavours to incorporate the art of fine singing and musicianship, reaching audiences through imaginative themes and expressive communication.

In 2000 Monique published 10 Songs for Children - a collection of works designed for young aspiring singers and has since released a number of songs as individual publications.

2003 saw the release of True, a self-produced CD of original works where the purity of Monique's classical vocals converge with fresh and innovative arrangements appealing to a diverse range of music listeners.

After a decade living in New Zealand, Monique moved back to Australia in 2015 and currently resides in Northern New South Wales.
