Queensland-based composer Robert Davidson is currently taking part in the IAMIC's new Virtual Composers in Residence Programme, together with a Canadian colleague, José Evangelista. IAMIC (International Association of Music Information Centres) Virtual Composers In Residence Programme gives composers the opportunity to network and to share information about their work in a virtual, interactive environment. The IAMIC website hosts two new composers each month, with the goal of offering composers of all genres a context in which to gain greater visibility for their work, to reach new audiences and online communities, and talk with their foreign colleagues.

Composers use email, chat, blogs and the IAMIC website to discuss their daily work, music, education, possible projects and to track the progress of the work. The conversation is open for public comments.

Previously featured composers on the IAMIC website include Jack Body (NZ), Katharina Klement (Austria), John McLachlan (Ireland) and Lucien Posman (Flanders). The program runs until 31st of July 2011 and is open to composers of all genres, from all IAMIC member countries.
