Queen's Birthday Honours 2014: Cheetham, Grabowsky, Koehne, Vine
Many composers, performers and educators have been recognised for their services to music in the 2014 Queen's Birthday Honours list. AMC-represented artists Paul Grabowsky, Graeme Koehne and Carl Vine were appointed as Officers of the Order of Australia (AO), as was opera singer and composer Deborah Cheetham. Singer and artistic director of Opera Australia, Lyndon Terracini, was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
Wirripang's Anne and Brennan Keats were recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for their services to music as publishers of works by contemporary Australian composers. Music educators recognised with an OAM include Rita Crews, Anne Harvey and Malcolm Hewitt, among others.
The director and chairman of the Australian Music Foundation, Heather de Haes, received an OAM for service to performing arts, particularly through facilitating international study and performance opportunities.
