Opportunity: The Summers Night Project
The Summers Night Project is an interesting new opportunity for WA, SA and Victoria-based female composers of any age, genre or background. Three composers will work with a mentorship team in each state, as well as the new music ensembles Decibel (WA) and Soundstream (SA), to create a new work for workshopping, followed by performances in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne in July 2018. The participants will be provided with a commission fee, travel and accommodation in each city they visit.
Mentors for the Summers Night Project (named so in honour of writer and feminist Anne Summers) include Cat Hope, Gabriella Smart, Rebecca Erin Smith, Becky Llewellyn, Stuart James, Tristen Parr and Derek Pascoe.
The timeframe is tight, as submissions for the program are
required by the deadline of
Monday, 5 March 2018.
