Opportunity: residency in Paris

Cité Internationale des Arts

Opportunity: residency in Paris

The Australia Council's Music Board is inviting applications to its Paris residency opportunity. This three-month residency at the Australia Council's residential studio at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris provides a professional music artist or artsworker the chance to undertake a period of professional development, with the support of a $10,000 living and travel allowance. The residency is offered every three years - most recently to oud player and composer Joseph Tawadros.

The facilities of the Cité are divided between two locations in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre. Since its opening in 1965, the Cité Internationale des Arts has accommodated more than 18 000 artists from all over the world.

The closing date of the applications is 1 September 2011, and the residency itself must take place between 31 May 2012 to 30 August 2012.

For more information about the selection criteria, and the Australia Council Studio, see the Australia Council website.
