Applications for Prelude composer residencies in 2022 are now open and will close on 15 August 2021.

Prelude offers long-term residencies allowing composers to focus on their craft while residing in one of three heritage-listed Australian homes. Prelude supports Australian composers with the time and space to create new work by providing accommodation and a stipend to assist with living expenses. The program is open to composers of music of any genre and at any stage of their career.

Residencies for 2022 are available in three states: the Peggy Glanville-Hicks House in Paddington, Sydney; Gallop House in Perth; and the North Adelaide Baptist Church in SA. The program is administered by the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Trust.

Chair of the Glanville-Hicks Trust, Mary Jo Capps AM, commented,

'Prelude residencies offer artists time, space and financial support to securely pursue their work. This opportunity wouldn't be possible without the incredible foresight of Peggy Glanville-Hicks, the partnerships with the National Trusts in SA and WA, and the critical financial support of the Australia Council for the Arts, Create NSW and APRA AMCOS.'
