Grant funding for sound recordings by Australian artists is again available via the PPCA-Australia Council grant scheme. This program offers five $15,000 grants for individuals, with applications assessed according to their artistic merit, diversity and quality of partners and/or intended audience as well as the vialibity of the project. Expressions of interest are welcome from a wide range of artists: previous grant recipients have included singer-songwriters, classical music performers as well as art music composers from jazz to contemporary classical.

In 2018, two grants went to AMC's represented artists Sandy Evans, whose album Bridge of Dreams (Rufus Records) is already out and available from the AMC Shop, and Lachlan Skipworth. His new album is due for release in August 2019 by the Navona label.

'Winning the PPCA grant opened up some exciting new opportunities for me', Skipworth said. 'I recently finished recording my works with wonderful musicians in an excellent studio, and have just sent the final mixes off for release through a US label who can promote the recordings to an international audience.'

The forthcoming album features five recent chamber works by Skipworth: his Piano Trio (2015) and Piano Quartet (2016), Clarinet Quintet (2016) as well as two conceptual pieces Intercurrent and The Night Sky Fall, performed by his ensemble Intercurrent.

Applications for these grants are now open and will close on 19 March 2019.

> Full details about selection criteria and the application process are available on the Australia Council website.
