Opportunity: GENERATE music industry investment program

Opportunity: GENERATE music industry investment program

A pilot program by the Federal Government and the music industry, GENERATE, is looking to invest in music-related businesses or business ideas. Applications are expected from small to medium-sized music enterprises, including composers, songwriters, bands, managers, publishers, promoters, producers and labels. Proposals that involve new collaborations or business models involving music and other creative professions are encouraged.

GENERATE will provide business-development skills and mentoring and access to seed investment of up to $30,000 for up to 15 enterprises. The 3-stage program will run until May 2012. At this stage, applications are sought from music professionals, entrepreneurs and businesses to register for an introductory workshop in February. Deadline for applications is 31 January.

More information and link to registrations is available on the Australian Music Industry Network website.

The Australian Music Centre connects people around the world to Australian composers and sound artists. By facilitating the performance, awareness and appreciation of music by these creative artists, it aims to increase their profile and the sustainability of their art form. Established in 1974, the AMC is now the leading provider of information, resources, materials and products relating to Australian new music.
