Opportunity: 2021 Albert H Maggs Composition Award

The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music invites submissions for the 2021 Albert H Maggs Composition Award. This Award is provided as a commission for Australian composers for the creation of a musical work of a substantial nature. The value of the award is $15,000, comprising $11,000 for the commission and a performance subsidy of up to $4,000.

Applications for this scholarship close on Sunday 17 October 2021. Applicants can expect an outcome four weeks from the closing date.

Entries are open to any Australian composer who has been resident in Australia for at least two years before the closing date for applications. Whilst applications are open to all, this award is typically granted to composers of some experience and has a strong history of recipients from the professional field. Previous awardees are also welcome to apply.

Selection will be made on the basis of documents including a list of works, overview of commissions, publications and performances, a copy of a score and matching recording of ONE composition you have written in the last three years.

> For full details, and to submit an application, please proceed to the Albert H Maggs Composition Award website.
