The latest issue of the UK jazz magazine Jazzwise boasts a lot of Australian content, including a special covermount CD with 17 tracks of the latest Australian jazz.

Inside, are several articles featuring Australian artists, including an interview with Andrea Keller about her latest work, and a long report 'Wizards of Aus' about the exciting artists active in Australia right now. There are also reviews of albums of music by Mike Nock and Jonathan Zwartz.

The tracks on the accompanying CD include work by numerous AMC-represented and other Australian artists: Paul Grabowsky, Barney McAll, Niran Dasika Quartet, Zela Margossian Quintet, the Australian Art Orchestra (with Daniel Wilfred, Sunny Kim and Peter Knight), Flora Carbo Trio, Torrio! (Grabowsky, Mirko Guerrini, Niko Schauble), Aviva Endean, Scott Tinkler and Simon Barker, Reuben Lewis, Archie Roach and Emma Donovan, Andrea Keller, The Vampires, Cheryl Durongpisitkul, Linda May Han Oh, Luke Howard and Nadje Noordhuis, Sandy Evans (with Shuba Mudgal and the Sirens Big Band), Hamed Sadeghi & Eishan Ensemble, and Joseph Tawadros.

With a print run of 10,000, the magazine reaches its readers through subscriptions and 5,000 retail outlets. The April 2020 issue of Jazzwise would have also made it into the hands of the about 2,500 delegates of the jazzahead! industry event, scheduled to take place in Bremen, Germany, next month. The fair, as well as the Australian delegation that was preparing to head to Europe for this purpose, have now been postponed to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The covermount CD is a component of the AMC's Australian Jazz in Europe project - a two-year market development initiative with funding provided by the Australia Council for the Arts and realised in partnership with SOUNDS AUSTRALIA.

'We know that Australian jazz has much to offer, and we're very pleased with the attention that this coverage on Jazzwise is already stimulating. AMC is seeking to extend our Australian Jazz in Europe project timeline to incorporate jazzahead! 2021, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with SOUNDS AUSTRALIA in boosting the profile of Australian artists in such international contexts', said the AMC's CEO John Davis.

We're grateful for the expert guidance and the hard work of Ann Moir and our UK-based board member and Europe Jazz Network's Vice President, Martel Ollerenshaw, in making the Australian Jazz Snapshot become reality.
