Jazzahead! 2020 now calling for proposals
The 2020 Jazzahead! industry event will take place in Bremen from 23 to 26 April 2020. Applications for the Jazzahead Showcase Festival are now open, closing on 31 October 2019.
'Showcases' are 30-45-minute short concerts, organised as part of the trade fair and open to the general public. There will be 40 jazz highlights from all over the world over three days and nights on the stages of Hall 7 and the Kulturzentrum Schlachthof. Showcases are selected by international expert juries and are based on applications.
In order to apply for a showcase the band/artist needs to first register as (co-)exhibitor or a professional participant at Jazzahead. Australian bands and artists can register themselves as co-exhibitors as part of the Australian delegation - please get in touch with AMC's John Davis or SOUNDS AUSTRALIA's Glenn Dickie to obtain the code to register under the umbrella of the Australian stand.
In addition to supporting participating artists and the Australian delegation at Jazzahead together with SOUNDS AUSTRALIA, the AMC will also be offering a Jazzahead Artistic Associate role - applications will open later in 2019, meanwhile you can read Zela Margossian's blog article about her experiences in Jazzahead last year.
