International composer survey

International composer survey

The Centre for Music and Multimedia of Royal College of Music, London, has launched a major international online survey of composers. The survey seeks to investigate the appropriateness and effectiveness of training and education opportunities for composers. The aim of the survey is to understand the lifelong educational needs of composers and songwriters, in order to better be able to lobby for opportunities and resources to study the art and craft of composing.

The survey has been developed by Professor David Burnand, Head of the CMM at the Royal College of Music, with support and advice from colleagues in the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, the Contemporary Music Centre Ireland, the National University of Ireland at Maynooth, Leiden University Academy of Creative and Performing Arts, and the University of Hertfordshire.

Take part in the online survey - answering the questions will take approximately five minutes.

The Australian Music Centre connects people around the world to Australian composers and sound artists. By facilitating the performance, awareness and appreciation of music by these creative artists, it aims to increase their profile and the sustainability of their art form. Established in 1974, the AMC is now the leading provider of information, resources, materials and products relating to Australian new music.
