Film Critics' Circle awards Cezary Skubiszewski
Image: Cesary Skubiszewski Composer Cezary Skubiszewski has been granted a Special Acknowledgement Award for his continued contribution to Australian cinema at the annual Film Critics' Circle Awards. The awards ceremony was held in Sydney on Sunday 13 March.
Cezary Skubiszewski also won the Best Music Score for his music in the film Bran Nue Dae. Skubiszewski's score was nominated together with music composed by Mary Finsterer (for the film South Solitary), Antony Partos & Sam Petty (Animal Kingdom) and Michael Yezerski (The Waiting City). Another score by Skubiszewski (for Beneath Hill 60) was also nominated.
The Polish-born Skubiszewski migrated to Australia in 1974. In addition to composing music for film, tv and advertising, he has played in and composed for a number of rock, jazz and classical groups.
