The 2011 City of London Festival (26 June - 16 July) showcases music from Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. The first days of the festival include a sound installation by David Lumsdaine, featuring sounds from the Australian bush (27 June), and a concert by the English Chamber Orchestra and the guitarist John Williams (with guitar concertos by Peter Sculthorpe and Ross Edwards, 27 June). Australian performers also include William Barton, the Goldner Quartet (6 & 8 July), the London-based all-Australian chamber orchestra Ruthless Jabiru (9 July), and Elision Ensemble (15 July), while concert programs showcase a wide selection of works by Australian composers, from Elena Kats-Chernin (several premieres) and Gillian Whitehead to Brett Dean, Carl Vine, Nigel Westlake, Matthew Hindson, Liza Lim, Paul Stanhope, Colin Brumby and Stuart Greenbaum. The BBC Singers will perform a program of Australian and NZ works by Anne Boyd, Jennifer Fowler, Stephen Leek, Percy Grainger, Jack Body and David Farquhar (1 July).

The City of London Festival is known for its unique venues, including some of London's lesser-known historic churches and halls. In addition to music, the festival presents visual arts, films, walks and talks.
