Update: Applications for MODART09 close on Friday 31 October!

Emerging Australian composers are again invited to submit their proposals in the MODART professional development project. MODART09 gives young composers from around Australia and New Zealand the opportunity to develop a short vocal work in close collaboration with the singers of The Song Company and their director, Roland Peelman. The final performance will be recorded by ABC Classic FM. In 2009, the opportunity also exists to involve live electronics in connection with the voice.

Previous MODART rounds took place in 2003, 2005 and 2007. All in all, 28 young composers have benefited from this collaboration of the Australian Music Centre and The Song Company

More details about MODART and the MODART09 submissions are available on the Australian Music Centre website.
