Many organisations secured funding from the June round, including some that were left without confirmed funds for their 2017 operations after the 4-year funding announcements earlier this year. Successful organisations this time around include the Next Wave festival, Gondwana Choirs and the Wangaratta Jazz Festival. Grants also went to SIMA, APRA AMCOS (for Live Music Office), Pro Musica (for Canberra International Music Festival), Victorian Arts Centre (for a collaboration between Iain Grandage and Indonesian musicians), the Benaud Trio (to record a new album of Australian work), the INLAND concert series, and others.

In all, $5.7 million was awarded - this consisted of single and multi-year project grants for individuals, groups and organisations, development grants for individuals and groups, as well as Australia Council Fellowships for eight artists representing different artforms. Applications for project and development grants were received from 1,165 organisations - the success rate was 15%. The Australia Council's revised grant model asks applicants to select their area of practice - different peer panel options available were Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts; Community Arts and Cultural Development; Dance; Emerging and Experimental Arts; Literature; Multi-art form; Music; Theatre; Visual Arts; and Artists with Disabilities.

103 peers from all of the states and territories of Australia participated in the assessment of applications in the June round, of which 24% were based in regional and remote areas. The success rate for applications from the regional and remote areas was 18%.
