Australia Council fellowships to Erik Griswold and Peter Knight
Ros Bandt and Andrée Greenwell among Project Fellowship recipients
Composer-pianist Erik Griswold and composer-trumpeter Peter Knight have both received two-year Fellowships from the Music Board of the Australia Council for the Arts, following the latest assessment meeting this November. Griswold's fellowship will go towards composing new works for diverse ensembles, while Peter Knight's plans include an international tour and a residency, as well as new work. The other two fellowship recipients for 2013-14 are jazz guitarist James Muller and sound artist Lucas Abela.
The Music Board also awarded five Project Fellowships - these went to Ros Bandt, Andrée Greenwell, Robbie Avenaim, Ross Bolleter and Erkki Veltheim - and 15 Skills and Arts Development Grants. An assessment report with a full list of grant recipients, as well as information about forthcoming grant deadlines, is available on the Australia Council website. Of 108 applications, 25 were successful, with a funded total of $641,274.
