The APRA AMCOS Art Music Fund is again open for applications, with a simplified application process and a pool of $50K (10 grants of $5,000 each) available for the creation of a new, commissioned work.

This is the sixth round of the Art Music Fund, an initiative of APRA AMCOS and the AMC. Due to the very different circumstances faced by artists in 2020, the requirements and the application process have been modified to allow for more flexibility. The aim of the fund remains the same: to enable the creation of commissioned work that is innovative, displays professional compositional craft and represents a benchmark of excellence in its field. The intention is to support works with a long artistic life - for the purposes of the fund, 'art music' refers to contemporary classical music, contemporary jazz, experimental music, or sound art.

The ten grants of $5,000 each are intended as a contribution towards the commission of the proposed work. Applicants are required to present a plan, and have relationships in place to help them create and present the work - for example performers, broadcasters, festival organisers, record labels, publishing companies, artistic directors of ensembles and venues.

Applications are due at 5pm AEDT on 16 February 2021. Successful applicants will be notified at the end of April.
