The second Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address for 2020 will be presented by Sunny Kim - a Korean-born singer, improviser, and educator, now based in Melbourne. In her address, she will share her knowledge gained through years of creative collaboration with Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australian musicians, to bring to light the incredible power of music-making as a medium of relationality. She reflects on the year 2020 as a crucial time for renewal and calls Australian contemporary music-makers to action towards cultivating a safe and nurturing environment in which diversity of our authentic voices can truly be heard and celebrated.

The New Music Network passed the baton of presenting the prestigious annual Address to the AMC in 2019, delivered then by Yorta Yorta artist Deborah Cheetham AO. In 2020, because of restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, two online Addresses were commissioned instead of one live event.

The first 2020 Address took the form of an interactive online artwork by sonic artists Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey - for details, see: 'Hello Human, Welcome to Art' (Resonate 31 August 2020).

The Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address by Sunny Kim will be streamed online on the AMC's Youtube Channel at 6pm AEDT on 8 December. Register your interest and get reminded on Facebook.
