2016 Art Music Awards - nominations are now open

2016 Art Music Awards - nominations are now open

Nominations for the year's most important new music event are now open. The 2016 Art Music Awards, presented by APRA AMCOS and the Australian Music Centre, will be celebrated in Melbourne on Tuesday 16 August.

You have until 5pm AEST on Monday 11 April to lodge your nomination online. Which were the best orchestral, instrumental, vocal, choral and jazz works in 2015? The most amazing, thought-provoking or engaging performances? Whose work impressed you - which organisations and individuals should be acknowledged at the festive Art Music Awards ceremony? Which were the worthiest achievements in music education, and in regional areas? Which people, works or events deserve to be shortlisted for the Awards for Excellence in experimental music and jazz?

Make sure you read the updated Rules and Guidelines and include the required support materials with your nomination. Nominations are accepted from current AMC or APRA members - also, industry organisations and companies such as educational institutions, broadcasters, retail outlets, recording studios, and promoters are able to nominate. (If you need to be reminded of your membership number or want to renew your membership, just give us a call. You can also join the AMC or renew your AMC membership online.)

The AMC's Australian music calendar is a good starting point for finding details of the best new music events in 2015. To browse the calendar by State, please follow these links: Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia.

Nominations deadline: 5pm AEST on Monday 11 April 2016.
